We opened our doors in Park Ridge when the suburb was still in it’s infancy in 1997. We were originally based in Park Ridge Shopping Centre until 2015 when this underwent renovation and became Park Ridge Town Centre. The move to the new Town Centre practice gave us the opportunity to modernise the practice, give ample space to each surgery room, the waiting room and even our OPG x-ray room. This custom designed practice is modern and enjoys lots of beautiful natural light.
Are you experiencing persistent tooth sensitivity or pain. Do you have a broken or chipped tooth that makes it difficult for you to chew? These symptoms could be an indication that you have an active decay or infection in your tooth. At Park Ridge Dental, we recommend acting immediately and contacting your dentist for a thorough check-up. Pain and discomfort in teeth usually means that decay has already led to a cavity or infection.

As dentists we help with all range of dental emergencies involving the teeth, gums, mouth and jaw, including: Trauma: Sports injuries, playground hurts, falls, trips and other accidents. Fights or where you have just run into something when you weren’t looking. Toothache or infection: Swollen gums, sharp toothaches and dull persistent pain in tooth, gum or pain in the jaw from clenching or grinding.
Patients often worry about whether we can fit them in at the time of their dental emergency. Please give us a call straight away, as we reserve a number of appointments each day for dental emergencies. If you are unsure whether you need to come in then, our friendly reception team can listen to your situation and tell you how soon you might need to see the dentist. With dental emergencies, time is of the essence, so if in doubt call or book the next available appointment online.
If the accident is severe then we recommend you visit the local emergency room. If you are experiencing swelling and pain then we recommend you should also visit your local emergency room or take advantage of an after-hours GPs or home visit GP. If you believe it can wait till the morning then call us on 07 3297 0153, leave a message and we’ll call you back ASAP to arrange an appointment on the same day.
Your gums should not bleed when you brush so this indicates that you might have plaque, gingivitis or gum disease. Once you have lost gum or bone you don’t get them back so the best way to avoid this is through good home care routines and maintaining your 6-monthly dental check-up and clean. If you suspect that you have some issues with your gums be sure to mention this at your next appointment.
When the bacteria or toxins from your decay has progressed through the hard enamel and into the soft nerve of the tooth, and the nerve has started to react and become a tooth ache. If your nerve is already dead you may get an infection or absess which can also cause a significant amount of pain.
