General Podiatry

Our experienced podiatrists provide a range of treatment solutions for all your foot and lower limb issues. Our areas of special interest include heel pain, children's feet, ingrown toenails and custom computerised orthotics. We offer diabetic foot assessments, circulation and sensation testing as well as looking after any skin or nail care needs. From cracked heel treatments through to ingrown toenail surgery, here at Podantics Podiatry we assist you with all your general podiatry concerns.

Sports, Biomechanics & Orthotics

We offer assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and advice on a wide range of sporting and everyday lower limb injuries. We are trained to treat a range of foot and ankle injuries such as sprains, muscle, tendon and ligament injuries, shin splints, stress fractures, Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and forefoot pain. We are fully equipped to treat everyone using the latest technology to analyse your walking and running style and to provide a range of treatment options from custom made orthotics, strapping, dry needling, strengthening programs and more.

Children’s Feet

Our practice has a special interest in the treatment of children's foot problems. We offer complete foot assessments for growing pain, flat feet, sever's disease, knock knees, in-toeing and of course all those nasty warts and ingrown toenails. Using the latest GALLOP assessment tool (Gait and Lower Limb Observation of Paediatrics) together with pressure platforms and video analysis we can help track your child's development over time. If you have any concerns about your child’s feet, their skin, nails, walking, running, shoe wear or tripping and falling, we are here to help.

    Sports podiatry involves the expertise in the diagnosis of foot problems as well as treatments such as joint mobilisation, massage and trigger point therapy, advanced orthotic therapy, exercise and footwear prescription for the elite, amateur and young athletes, as well as those who have sustained injuries in day to day life.

  • What is orthotics?

    Orthotics is custom made devices prescribed by a podiatrist to fit inside your shoes. They help comfortably stabilise the foot, support the arch and correctly align foot posture to assist with complaints such as foot pain, ankle injuries, biomechanical problems and flat feet. Whilst, not everybody needs orthotics, for those who do, they can be a blessing giving them freedom from pain, increase in confidence and comfort in their feet.

    Yes, Our assessments focus on the source of the heel pain. With many possible diagnosis for heel pain such as Plantar Fasciitis, Medial Calcaneal Neuritis, Achilles Tendonitis, Baxter's Nerve, Severs Disease etc. It is important to get the correct diagnoses. Depending on your cause, treatment may include dry needling, exercise, massage, strapping, orthotics, rehabilitation stretches and more. We have tried and tested the majority of heel pain treatments over the years and only offer high success

    Orthotics are custom made devices prescribed by a podiatrist to fit inside your shoes. By using a combination of modern 3D computer generated orthotics and traditionally crafted device we can cater to a larger range of shoes and problems.

Areas we can help with include ingrown toenails, heel pain, hypotonia, clumsiness, ligament laxity and assessment of stability issue such as those seen in children with hypotonia, ligament laxity and autism.

  • How do you treat ingrown toenails?

    There are many causes of ingrown toenails many of which can be treated gently without surgery via simple ingrown toe nail treatments. However, when conservative methods of treating the nail fail, then surgery may be required. When required, our Podiatrist can perform a simple and permanent procedure that removes a small wedge of the nail and prevents it from growing back.
