I can't believe how fortunate I was to spontaneously decide to walk into the Acupuncture and Oil Massage Clinc in Woden because my back was sore. It was just the best massage - and I discovered Dr Jack Zhang is so much more than a masseur - he's an expert acupuncture doctor and Chinese Medicine Practitioner, with other wellness skills such as a manipulation and amazing weight loss techniques. I'm feeling so much better after just a few sessions with him. I really am benefiting from his expertise and his wisdom. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

I went to the Acupuncture & Oil massage place for shoulder pain and wanted acupuncture treatment as I have had it before at a different place and felt that it really helped.
When I called to make an appointment I was told that I would have to come in and will be told a price when I get there. Roughly between $50-$100 I was quoted on the phone.
When I walked into the place I thought it looked very cheap and tacky. I still decided not to judge a book by its cover. When I met the man he spoke limited English and said that I needed to pay $85 as it includes $20 consultation where he tells me what is wrong and explores other aspects that need to be covered. The other 30min would be treatment time.
I asked if he could give me a discount and he took $5 off the $85, therefore paying $80 in total. I got asked to pay in advance which again I thought was strange. I got told to fill out a form (which again the english grammar on the form was very poor), ticking boxes about health issues, and I ticked the trouble sleeping box, as well as my main concern with my shoulder.
Once I gave him back the form he took me to another room (dark creepy room with no light and just a wooden chair and random printer on the table). He read the form and then asked me where exactly the pain was and then continued to ask me about my pay as a nurse etc (not relevant at all to the 20min consultation or even other aspects that needed to be addressed). He asked me if I had any questions and I said no, as I could hardly understand what he was saying and left it at that. He never explained what he was going to do exactly nor did I think he had enough intellectual knowledge in regards to the human anatomy and how certain areas were affecting my shoulder.
We went on to a different room where I was hoping he would feel certain tension spots and explain to me what was going on etc.. hoping he would continue on the consultation. Instead he asked me where I was sore again and then put some needles in me and then put a kids blanket on me that looked uncleaned and probably used on multiple clients and told me to sleep for 5min and relax. I couldn’t relax and couldn’t feel comfortable, I was starting to get cold. I then started to realise that this is nothing what I had imagined my treatment to be.
He came back 15min later and took the needles out and told me that’s it and to get up. I asked if the treatment was finished and he said yes. I told him I wasn’t happy with it and that it was only a 15min treatment. I got changed and went out and expressed to him my disappointment of the entire experience. I requested a refund and he wouldn’t give me one.
I continued to explain why I wanted a refund and asked to see his business terms and conditions in regards to refunds. He continued to yell at me and told me he wouldn’t give me one and that the procedure went for the time as stated on the pamphlet and that I just wanted to get a free treatment out of him.
He showed me my receipt and pointed at the time of paying that it has been the adequate time. Regardless of the fact I paid first then filled out form, then had the consultation and then the treatment. With consultation only going for a maximum of 5min.
The guy wouldn’t talk to me and called security. When security came I explained to him my side of the story and he seemed to agree that it was strange I had to pay before my treatment and that I didn’t get what I paid for.
The wife came out behind a curtain that wasn’t there at the beginning of my arrival and stated I was rude and that other people tried to get refunds too and that I’m just like them. She stated: "When people have surgery and they are not happy do you think they get a refund?" It was irrelevant to the facts I was arguing against, nor did she let me talk and explain my frustration.
Unfortunately the owner and his wife wouldn’t settle to giving me a refund so I had to go through ANZ dispute to claim back my

I have been gotten service at this clinic for a while. It is a fantastic experience of body and soul. During the massage treatment I feel very relax and delightfulness. I have so enjoyed the massage skills and consulting with the massage therapist that I become a very loyal customer. And also I recommend my friends to come here for massages. Very good professional service.
