What is a Will?
A Will is a legal document that states how an estate (assets) will be distributed after a person dies. A Will also appoints an Executor who will be responsible for ensuring the deceased person’s wishes are met. If someone dies without a Will, they are said to have died intestate. In this circumstance, the property will be distributed to the nearest relatives according to the pre-determined legal formula.
What is an Executor?
An executor is someone appointed to carry out the wishes and provisions as set out in a will. The executor is the person with the ultimate authority with regard to funeral arrangements.
How much does a funeral cost?
Each funeral director will have subtle differences in their charges, inclusions, terms of trade and conditions of service. There are two main categories of charges in any funeral service – the funeral directors charges and third party charges (called disbursements). Funeral Directors charges are usually their Service Charge and selected Coffin or Casket. The main difference between one company and another it what they include, and exclude, from their Service Charge.
What happens to the memorial donations collected at the Funeral?
If you request that we collect memorial donations on your behalf, they are collected in an attended secure locked box at the service. At the end of the service, we will open and count the number of envelopes in front of the next of kin. The next business day after the service, we make contact with the charity and request that they collect the envelopes at their earliest convenience.
Do we need to use your suppliers?
No. At Frank J Siebert Funeral Directors we do not mark up our disbursements. We receive no ‘kick backs’ for using our suppliers, and our staff do not receive commissions or bonuses based on the choices you make. We recommend our suppliers be they are reliable, their work is of a high standard, and they understand the tight time frames often involved in funerals. However, you are welcome to consider your own florists, printers and other suppliers.
When will I get the Certified Death Certificate?
Once the burial or cremation has taken place, the death is registered with the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages by your funeral director. Once the Registrar has matched and reviewed the Registration Statement with the Medical Cause of Death Certificate provided by the treating doctor, the Certified Death Certificate is generated. This can take 10 to 14 working days.

Sadly my beloved brother recently passed away overseas. As a family we had no idea where to start in bringing him home to Adelaide. Fortunately, we remembered that we had engaged Frank Siebert Funeral Directors for my father's funeral in the late 1970s and decided to contact them again. From the very first moment we contacted Natasha Siebert the service we received was incredible and, if possible, I would give her a much higher rating than 5 stars. Natasha was available to us at any time of the night or day. She coordinated an incredibly complex situation with amazing efficiency and was able to effectively liaise with a vast array of people including overseas funeral directors, translators and family members, communicating clearly with us at every turn. Most importantly, she helped us to feel calm and in control despite the devastating situation we faced. I can not thank her enough for her professionalism, organizational skills, research abilities, knowledge and compassion. She went above and beyond in everything that she did in helping us to bring our brother home so that we could give him a fitting farewell.
