Even if you believe you have good vision, you could have an underlying visual problem. Visual ailments such as short-sightedness and long-sightedness are very common. Eye diseases can also cause vision loss such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. With regular eyes tests and early detection, most conditions can be prevented or corrected. Don't wait until you know something is wrong to have an eye test, many serious conditions have little or no symptoms until they are advanced.

Do lenses have a warranty?
All lenses sold at Eyes@Australind have a one year warranty on manufacturing (anti reflective lenses have a 2 year warranty). We want you to be happy so any trouble you have with the prescription, tell us! We will do our best to fix it any way we can. Progressive lenses come with a three month warranty covering you if you cannot adjust to them. Within those three months we can change aspects of the lenses to best suit you & we can change them to another type of lens such as a bifocal.
What do I do to get started?
Call us and make an appointment for a 1 hour general eye test and contact lens fitting. We offer a free contact lens trial for everyone. Generally we have trial lenses in stock that you can try that day to wear. If for whatever reason you don't go ahead to order contact lenses there, is no fitting fee to be paid.
I have been told that I can't wear contacts but would like to try them again. What are my options?
Come in and talk to Rebecca. If you are really motivated, there is a contact lens option for just about everyone.
How long will my lenses take?
For most prescriptions we can have your lenses within a week, sometimes a few days if you tell us you are in a hurry. If you have a very high prescription or order lenses that are more complicated to produce it can take up to 2 weeks.
Has technology advanced since I last tried contact lenses?
More than likely! New products are coming available every month so if the last time you tried lenses was in the 70's, 80's or 90's you could be in for a surprise about how comfortable and convenient they can be, as well as so much better for the health of your eyes.
Can I get coloured contacts?
Most people are suitable for coloured contacts whether they need glasses or not. We can custom make them if you would like something out of the ordinary.
Do I have to use complicated cleaning systems?
No, most contact lenses now use one bottle cleaning regimes. Follow the basic instructions on each pack. We will show you how to clean your lenses and give you a sample of your cleaner. Daily contact lens doesn't need cleaning at all.
What if my lenses don't feel right?
We like you to give them a try for a week to see if you become more comfortable in them as often this is all it takes. But we also understand that sometimes it takes more than a standard eye test for some people who are sensitive to changes in their prescription. If you find that you cannot adjust to a new prescription, or even just the new frame, we are more than happy to spend some more time with you and work it out. Please just call us and make a time to come in to discuss your new glasses.
Will they hurt my eyes?
When you first put contact lenses in, you may feel a slight discomfort like an eyelash stuck in the eye. This usually goes away after the first 15minutes & most people easily adapt to contact lens wear in the first couple of days. Contact lenses can be safely worn by most people so it is important to discuss your needs with your optometrist (Rebecca) so that the best care can be provided. The people who usually run into difficulties are those who are relaxed with their lens cleaning and hygiene.
How long do they last for?
You can get single use contacts, 14 wear contacts, 30 wear contacts and also contact lenses that are designed to be used for a year or longer. We will discuss the lens most suitable for you during your consultation.
