You won't make horse teeth will you?
All new dentures are constructed to compliment a patients face and appearance. Teeth are selected in size, shape and colour to enhance the patients appearance.the patient is invited to be involved in the processes of tooth selection.The denture will not be processed until the patient is fully happy with the "try-in", which is a full mockup of the denture, in a wax stage.
Do I need a referal?
Dental prosthetists are registered denture specialists and are allowed by law to deal directly with the patient in relation to dentures and mouthguards for sport.We can refer and often do,to other dental professionals to maintain and care for your teeth.Implant retained overdentures will require referral.
How long will it take to make my new dentures?
In genera,l for a new full upper and lower denture, it will take approximately 2-3 weeks and usually 4-5 visits of no more than 1/2 an hour each.Metal frame dentures will take a little longer and some simple partial dentures can be made very quicklyEmergency situations will be taken into account if you require dentures more quickly than usual.we will fit into your time frame and requirements as best as possible.
What sort of maintenance will my dentures need over time?
In our experience we have found that positive benefits can be made with a denture for little or no cost. Clasps on a partial can be tightened a little, or that nagging sore spot can be eased. These adjustments can be made quickly and while you wait for your convenience.Small stains or tartar build-up can be polished or smoothed making your dentures looking fresh and feeling clean. Even if you're not quite sure, we will be happy to have a chat about what your concern is.
Will my new dentures hurt?
New dentures will probably feel very different. Small changes in dentition will feel like major changes to your mouth. Your old dentures are probably very worn but still very predictable. They have been part of your body for some years.Your new dentures will probably feel lumpy and bumpy and very different. This is all a very common feeling. Sometimes ulcers may appear with new dentures, this is very common.All small eases and adjustments will be dealt with promptly with no additional charge
