Can Chiropractic help with?
Chiropractic is not a cure for any thing. It restores normal healthy spinal function and you gain the benefits from that. By a Chiropractor removing interference from the spine, you in turn restore the nerve function to the body and thus the brain and the body communicates more effectively.
Should I get my kids adjusted?
Definitely. Subluxations (or misalignments) can be present from as early as the birthing process. It's important to get the young ones checked and even more so because they don't always have the ability to let you know when they're suffering.
What qualifications does Dr Lavery have?
Dr Lavery has Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland and a Masters of Chiropractic. He is currently studying his Paediatric Masters.
Can I bring my children along to my appointment?
Most definitely. The practice is very child friendly. We have plenty of toys, DVDs, games, colouring in's, and the children leave having had a lot of fun. The Chiropractic Assistant is always there to watch the children.
Do you have Hicaps?
We sure do. All you need to do is bring your private health fund card with you. We swipe it and depending on what level of cover you have, your health fund will pay a portion and you just pay the remaining gap. Also, we are preferred providers for Medibank Private and BUPA which entitles you to discounts on your initial consultation fee and higher refunds.
Is Dr Lavery the only Chiropractor?
Yes. Dr Lavery owns and established Lavery Chiropractic. You will always see the same Doctor of Chiropractic.
What's Chiropractic care all about or what is Chiropractic?
Your brain controls your body via the nervous system and your spine protects that nervous system. If you've got a misalignment somewhere in your spine then it can cause a communication error in that part of the body. The aim of the Chiropractor is to clear the misalignment which then allows your nervous system to communicate effectively and for your body to heal itself through its own innate ability.
How long is my first visit and what does it entail?
Your first visit is called an initial consultation. The appointment time is approximately 45 minutes. It involves orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic examinations. If x-rays are required we take those on site. You will then have your Chiropractic adjustment if indicated. The next visit is called a Report of Findings and it is at this time the Chiropractor will go through x-rays if taken, and go through the results from the exams of your first visit.
