How long will it take to get my new glasses or contact lenses?
Contact lens orders usually take 1-5 business days. Spectacle lens orders generally take 5-10 business days depending on the type of lens and the prescription. Some customised lenses can take longer. Our staff will be able to give a more accurate timeframe when you place your order.
Do you offer services for low vision?
In our practices, our optometrists can help people with vision impairment to make the best use of their remaining vision.
Are consultations claimable?
Most consultations with our Optometrists are claimable through Medicare. We use Medicare Online Services to lodge claims for you on the day of your consultation, which means the rebate will be in your account within 24 hours. Some retinal scans are claimable through Private Health Funds. Vision Therapy is not claimable.
What is OCT Scans?
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a sophisticated scanning system that produces highly detailed images of the eye. We will store your OCT images electronically so we can use for comparison at future visits to monitor any changes over time.
Do you have parking on-site?
Our Hume Street practice has 8 parking spaces on-site, including a disabled/parent park. Our Range practice is located at The Range Shopping Centre, 11 James Street. There is ample parking here, including disabled parks and parent parks.
What is Behavioural Optometry?
The way that you interpret what you see does not depend solely on how clear your sight is. Your vision is very complex, it involves your sight (how clearly you can see), your eye coordination, your visual focusing abilities, & your visual processing skills (how your brain interprets information received from the eyes). A Behavioural Optometrist, assesses your vision, not just your sight. You can book an appointment with our Behavioural Optometrist, John Merrin, at our Range Practice.
Do you offer your services for dry eye?
We offer a comprehensive assessment of your dry eyes and have a wide range of management options to provide you with the most effective solution.
Do you offer spectacle repair services?
Yes, some minor repairs, such as replacing screws or nose pads, can be done in our practices while you wait. More involved repairs sometimes require replacement frame parts to be ordered, or sending your frame to a specialist frame repair company; depending on the repair this can take between two days to two weeks.
Do you offer eye disease diagnosis & management?
Yes, we do! We invest in the latest technologies to ensure we can offer our patients the highest standard of clinical care. All of our optometrists have Therapeutics qualifications, meaning they are able to prescribe certain eye drops for many eye diseases and conditions.
Do you provide on the spot health fund claiming?
Yes, we have HICAPS facilities so we can process optical rebates for any Private Health Fund. All you need to bring is your current Private Health Fund card.
