Dr. Ian Farey MBBS (Hons), FRACS Spinal Surgeon.

Dr Ian Farey has dedicated his career to improving the well being, pain levels and function of patients who suffer from disorders of the spine many of which can produce incapacitating pain, compromise of neurological function and restriction of the activities of daily living.

Dr Farey is a specialist spinal surgeon, he trained in Orthopaedic and neurosurgical spinal surgery at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, USA. Dr Farey is a member of the Cervical research Society and a past President of the Spine Society of Australia. He specialises in all aspects of spinal surgery and has particular interests in cervical spine surgery for cervical spondylosis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, trauma and surgery for lumbar spinal canal stenosis.

Formerly the President of the Spine Society of Australia, Dr. Farey is actively involved in teaching and research both within Australia and internationally, having delivered many presentations at international meetings. He is passionate about medical education and is involved in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors and trainee surgeons, as well as fellow spinal surgeo
