Duggans Pty Ltd, a wholly family owned Tasmanian company, is situated in Cradoc, approximately fifty kilometres South of Hobart, on the banks of the Huon River, one of the most beautiful locations in the Huon Valley. History A third generation family business, we value our employees and our customers and we pride ourselves in maintaining strong and lasting relationships with both. In building these relationships the business has grown from a transport business 85 years ago to a business that can provide all components and expertise for a successful project. About Us Duggans Pty Ltd is a 100% Tasmanian family owned company that has been operating in the Huon Valley for over 85 years. Our Cradoc site comprises a quarry, precast concrete factory, premix concrete batching plant, plant workshop, earthworks/civil yard, welding shop and office. Duggans Quarry Successfully producing its own quality controlled crushed dolerite aggregates and road bases, the quarry is our hub of operations. It supplies the Huon and Channel areas with a full range of quarry gravels and road base materials along with externally sourced products, such as agricultural lime and dolomite, topsoil, gum chips and specialty sands.
The Duggan Enterprise was founded by Harry Duggan in 1927 with the purchase of his first lorry. A very proud history of trucking and transport operations, farming - including dairy and apple growing, and school bus operations are the foundation of a successful company that is today managed by third generation family members and employs 50 to 55 full time staff and 5 contractors.
A quality system to ISO 9002 has been developed and implemented to ensure that all customer requirements are satisfied. Supported by an on premises concrete and quarry material testing laboratory and qualified Q.A. staff, the quality system is applicable to all divisions and to all activities undertaken by the company.
Meeting industry demand and reduce transport costs for our customers, in 2005 Duggans Pty Ltd extended their capacity and capabilities by opening a new indoor manufacturing facility in Launceston.
