Do you offer a preschool program? How does this program differ from sessional preschool?

CKH does offer a preschool program for 4-5 year olds. The preschool program runs between the hours of 9-3 (centre is open 6.30-6.30 allowing full day attendance) and is designed to meet the needs of the child preparing for school entry the following year. Sessional preschool is a short session from 1-3 days per week, whereas we can provide 5 days a week catering to the working family. We provide a high quality program based on the early years learning frameworks for the full day.

Why is orientation important for my child?

Orientation is the opportunity for both your child and yourself to get to know the centre. Some children may be upset to leave their parents so we offer this time to alleviate the stress you both may feel. During this time the parent stays within the centre and can view how the child interacts with and accepts the educators. This will build trust and lead to a successful transition for the child.

Why would I put my child in long day care instead of family day care?

Our long day care centre offers broad opening hours for best flexibility for families. It offers both mixed and single age group contact which greatly enhances the opportunity for socialising for all children. All nappies and meals are provided for and there is no extra charge for attending the preschool program.
