Gandy & Roberts is based in Hobart on the fringe of the CBD.
Who are we Engineering is about people as well as buildings. We take a collaborative and involved approach, partnering with our clients to ensure that the vision of each project is fully realised From humble beginnings in 1985, we have grown to 40 staff including 36 engineers, designers and drafters across three engineering disciplines. We have a low turnover of staff, with many choosing to return to Gandy & Roberts after working elsewhere. We work hard to maintain a healthy, positive attitude to our work, and to ensure that all of our staff continue to develop and reach their career goals.
In each of these fields the firm provides services ranging from preliminary investigations, conceptual design and feasibility studies, through detailed design, documentation and construction inspections. Gandy and Roberts specialises in structures for buildings, including steelwork, masonry, pre-cast, reinforced and prestressed concrete, curtain walls, timber engineering, concrete repairs and tensile structures.
The firm's civil engineering capabilities include all civil works associated with buildings (subdivisions, access roads, car parking, drainage and retaining walls) plus standalone civil projects such as aquaculture facilities, municipal bridges, subdivisions and specialist studies.
Gandy and Roberts specialises in providing structural, civil and hydraulic engineering for architectural building projects. The size of our organisation combined with its depth of knowledge and resources makes us a niche practice, providing a level of service that larger and smaller organisations find hard to match.
