Call today for an appointment or simply to discuss how an osteopath can help you.
Where is your pain? Osteopathy is an effective form of manual medicine that uses techniques such as massage, stretching and joint mobilization to relieve your pain. Trigger point dry needling is another technique that is used by the Osteopath, which involves the use of acupuncture needles to treat trigger points or painful points within a tight band of muscle, to relax the muscle.
Osteopaths are primary care practitioners, which means you do not need a referral for an appointment. Osteopathy is covered by most private health funds. Your visit can be claimed immediately as we have Hicaps available. Here at Parkmore Osteopathy we are also registered to treat injuries covered under Department of Verteran's Affairs. Treatments can also be covered under Medicare, through the Enhanced Primary Care Program, which does involve referral from your GP.
We are also registered to treat injuries covered under Workcover, TAC and Department of Verteran's Affairs. Penny graduated from her Degree in Human Movement in 1993 and then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Exercise for Rehabilitation in 1994. This lead to a keen interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries, including sporting injuries. Penny then went on to complete Osteopathy in 2000.
The combination of Human Movement, Exercise Rehabilitation and Osteopathy has been the focus of Parkmore Osteopathy, where all treatments involve diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation to prevent further injuries. Penny trains and competes in fun runs, open water swims and triathlons herself, which adds to a personal interest in dealing with the injuries that can occur from these sports. Penny is a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association and Sports Medicine Australia.
