      WILL A SKYLIGHT MAKE THE ROOM HOTTER?

      All skylights will let some degree of heat through. Clear domes or single glazed glass will let in more heat than an opal dome or insulated glass units, but it all depends on the size of the skylight and the skylight shaft. The domes themselves are all 99% UV rated but a general rule of thumb is the larger the skylight then the more heat, unless you get the solar powered alternative, or blinds to control the direct sunlight coming through.


      WHAT TYPES OF SKYLIGHTS SHOULD I GET?

      If you just want to brighten the room as much as you can or the room is on the lower level of a 2-story house, then you may benefit from a solar powered Illume. If you are after a feature in your kitchen and want to open and close the skylight or want blinds to control the direct sunlight on those extra hot days, then you may want a VELUX.


      CAN YOU MAKE CUSTOM SKYLIGHTS?

      Our skylights are all made to order so we have a standard skylight range, but we can also manufacture skylights to your specifications. If you have a specialised skylight, you need made, give us a call today for a quote.


      WHAT TYPE OF SKYLIGHT SHOULD I GET?

      This unfortunately doesn't have a straightforward answer. What you want to achieve with your skylight will determine what type of skylight you need. If you are after natural light and a bit of ventilation, then a Redcliffe Skylights' product is the better option. If it is just a bathroom, toilet or laundry then the Circular Series skylight will help ventilate and bring a bit of light into the room.


      CAN YOU REPLACE MY LEAKING SKYLIGHT?

      We do not do repairs, but we can recommend several trusted installers to repair existing skylights even if it may not be our skylight. If you have taken any photos, you can email them to us with your details and we can then discuss what options you might have.
