Welcome Clinic 34, located in Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Nhulunbuy are specialised sexual health services for the assessment and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and blood borne viruses (BBV), including HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. Sexuality Education Project The Indigenous Adolescent Sexuality Education Project has come out of the National Partnership Agreement on Indigenous Early Childhood Development. The project aims to improve access to sexual and reproductive health education for Indigenous adolescents across the NT and to create a more consistent and coordinated approach to delivery of this education. The project works within a community development framework to build the capacity of communities to deliver appropriate and culturally relevant sexuality education. Sexual Health Urban Team The urban public health team, consists of Registered Nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers.Urban team work activities include:Education sessions for health professionals, clients, students, NGO staff, institutions and other service providers Preventative public health programs Community awareness raising Resources development and distribution Outreach clinical services Specialist support for Primary Health Care providers Youth Health Policy The role of the Youth Health Policy officer is to develop strategies/models that can engage young people with sexual health services in the NT and promote testing and condom use through innovative and creative tools. Part of developing a framework is to build partnerships and network with NGOs, institutions and youth organisations in the NT. The role also aims to reorient health services to be more youth friendly in order to increase health seeking behaviour in young Territorians. Free & Confidential Advice Clinic 34 is a specialist sexual health service for the assessment and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and blood borne viruses (BBV), including HIV/AIDS. All services, including medication, are free and do not require a Medicare card.
