Airspeed Aviation is a leader in the training of professional charter pilots.
Airspeed Aviation has grown from a sole trader with 2 pilots and 2 aircraft to one of the State's leading Air Charter companies employing up to 10 pilots and operating a fleet of 13 aircraft.
We aim to make Airspeed Aviation the industry leader in proactive safety management.
Airspeed Aviation has proven itself as an innovator in small crew Fly In Fly Out charter services. We have flown over 2,000 hours of FIFO in 2012/13 with zero serious incidents and minimal delays. We have handled small, regular jobs and several large projects including 130 plus personnel per week for Longwall commissioning and relocations.
At Airspeed Aviation we believe in improving the safety of our aircraft and providing the best-trained pilot with the best information displays available is our top priority.

How long does it take to complete the Private Pilot Licence (PPL)?
Completing the PPL usually takes 40-50 flight hours, including 10 hours solo and 2 hours of instrument flying, depending on individual progress.

On-demand, at your premises or ours; Full time duration 2 weeks or 4 weeks part-time.

What are the costs of Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training?
The CPL course costs approximately $83,875 (ex GST), including 200 flight hours. Hourly flight training starts at $370. Additional fees for exams may apply.

What does this course provide?
This course provides the theoretical knowledge to pass the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)'s Private Pilot Licence exam; PLUS an understanding of the legal and regulatory framework surrounding UAVs in Australia. What licences does AirSpeed Aviation offer training for?
We offer training for Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL), Private Pilot Licence (PPL), and Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), with tailored programs for each stage.
What aircraft are used for training at AirSpeed Aviation?
We primarily use the Grob G115 for basic training and the Cessna C182 Skylane for navigation exercises. Students can also use their own aircraft.
What are the age requirements to start training?
You must be at least 15 to fly solo, 16 to attempt the RPL, and 17 to hold a PPL. Also, A CASA Class 2 Medical is required.
