Yee Chan completed his medical training at the University of Melbourne and following a period of basic surgical training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital; he then completed his Urology training in Victoria.

Yee Chan gained experience in Urological Oncology and experience in laparoscopic surgery at the Austin Health. He is able to offer surgery with the laparoscopic approach for patients with prostate and kidney cancers, as well as patients with pelvic ureteric junction obstruction. He trained a robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with the Divinci Robot. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.
