Krov is dedicated to delivering exceptional underwater services with precision, safety, and innovation.
In a world that is moving towards decarbonisation and sustainability this is the obvious solution. Understanding the need to be cost efficient and fulfilling schedules in the fast-paced shipping environment of any operator, whilst considering providing an option that would help the environment — this is a win-win solution for all involved. Ships reducing their carbon emissions and minimising the chance of introducing invasive species around the world. At the same time the reducing carbon emission translates into reduced fuel costs for the operators. All of this is achieved without interfering with the vessels schedule since the work in undertaken whilst the vessel is stopped to undertake cargo ops.
K-ROV started in Townsville in 2016 and after initial successes it became clear that our clients wanted us to relocate our services to a bigger port. Not forgetting our roots, we still offer our services there and we have also picked up some more locations along the coast on our way down. As we strive to satisfy our customers needs, we relocated to the biggest port we could find In Queensland and moved our operations to Brisbane. This ensures that we are in a position to swiftly mobilise and can easily service anywhere along the East Coast and beyond.
Our K-ROV teams understand that our clients are on a schedule and strive to ensure the job will be completed thoroughly, on budget and in the safest possible way. Whilst schedules are important, the health and safety of our crew as well as our clients crew are always paramount. As a result of these standards to which we operate we have not had single customer who has not received the service we quoted. This means a reliable service for our customers when it comes to reducing their fuel bills as well as complying with the Biosecurity guidelines of their next port of call.
Both our Dive team and ROV team are highly experienced and offer a diverse range of skill sets and industry knowledge and many years of combined subsea experience. All K-ROV operations are conducted in accordance with Australian and IMCA standards. HullWiper is the first diver free, brushless in-water cleaning system to come to Australian shores. The system has a proven track record for safety and environmental standards overseas and as a result is currently the only system of its nature that has been approved in any port in Australia.

Are there any divers in the water?
No, the ROV is controlled remotely from the safety of our own vessel which further increases the overall safety of this type of operation.
Can the ROV be used to inspect/clean the proper, prop guard and rudder?
No, unfortunately not, since this ROV “drives” along your hull it is limited to what it can access in that manner. We are able to inspect the bilge keels but not clean them and we can inspect the sea chest grates and, in some cases, clean those.
Should I just clean the vertical sides or also the flat bottom of my vessel?
That is dependent on what you want to achieve with the clean. If you try to be compliant with New Zealand’s MPI regulation than it would be advisable to clean all flat surfaces. Beyond that you might want to consider to engage our sister company KW DIVE to conduct a full inspection to MPI NZ standards and if necessary to arrange an offshore operation to clean the niche areas as well.
How long does it take to clean a vessel with this method?
This is of course dependent on the size of vessel and the growth that is encountered/ condition of the hull coating. As a rule of thumb, a vessel around 200m LOA can be cleaned in 10hrs or less for vertical sides and a total of 16hrs or less if the flat bottom is cleaned as well.
When do you available to service?
We are available the Cleaning service possible 24/7 and during cargo loading and unloading.
Can you work while the vessel is doing cargo operations?
Yes, for all container and bulk vessels we can operate whilst cargo is being loaded and unloaded. There are some limitations when working tankers depending on the nature of the cargo since safety is paramount in all our operations.
Are you compliant with Australia's strict bio security laws?
Yes, our system ticks all the boxes that are required to conducted in water hull cleaning as outlined in the In-water hull cleaning guidelines that are currently used in QLD.
Can you work at night?
Yes, the ROV is equipped with strong LED lighting which allows for work at any time of the day and helps us work in very limited visibility.
How can I contact you?
You can call us on 0433 802 015.
