Do I get to choose the appliances/fixtures?
Certainly. Roddy Constructions encourage clients to choose their own appliances, fittings and fixtures. That way they can choose exactly what they want. Stuart can advise clients on what appliances would be most suitable. Clients are also welcome to receive Roddy Constructions trade price discounts.
Must every job include Home Warranty Insurance?
Home warranty insurance is an insurance taken out by the builder that covers the client for all work carried out. All contracts over $20,000 legally require home warranty insurance.
What can I expect from the quoting process?
Roddy Constructions realises the importance of the initial stages of the quoting process of any project. Stuart will initially arrange a face to face meeting with the client's to discuss their ideas and plans. For larger jobs, the weeks following involve communications between both parties to reach a final plan which is then quoted. The same process is applied to smaller jobs where the outcome is often reached much sooner. Roddy Constructions provides clients with very comprehensive quotes.
How are you paid by your clients?
The contract price will be divided into 'progress payments' which are clearly outlined in the building contract. After clients have (in their own time), signed the easy to read contract between themselves and us, we will invoice them a contract deposit. By law a deposit cannot exceed 10% of a contract price and cannot be requested by the builder until a home warranty certificate has been supplied. The contract will clearly outline the stages throughout the job at which we will invoice clients.
