Remedial Exercise And Body Conditioning

General Info

Pilates is useful in injury rehabilitation programs and is complementary to aerobics, gym work and sports training.

Nowra Pilates Centre is a fully equipped Pilates studio established by Dorothy Curnow in 1994. The Pilates principles are taught by qualified staff, who incorporate a wide variety of equipment and floor exercises in their programming.

Sessions consist of one instructor working with four clients and each client is taught individually within the parameters of his/her age, fitness level, strength, flexibility, body shape and pathologies. All new clients attend an initial assessment and sessions are by appointment only. Occasional private lessons and home programs are an option for those who do not have time to attend weekly sessions. Initial assessments - 75 to 90 minutes Sessions - 75 minutes Private lessons – 60 minutes

How long is a session?

Sessions are 75 minutes and participants are then expected to complete 15 minutes of stretching at the end of their session. Initial assessments, shared lessons (one on two) and private lessons are 60 minutes.

How long will it take before I notice a difference?

This is very individual, but most people notice small differences after approximately 10 weeks. It may be that you feel a little less stiff, it may be easier to look back over your shoulder, easier to put your socks on or your balance may feel a little better.

How often should I attend?

You should attend once per week unless there are special requirements.
