Honestly would not recommend!

Called a taxi for myself an children. Got the text message to say my taxi had arrived, only to walk out to the taxi to find the driver had let other men walking past get in. Taxi driver told me we would have to wait for another as he was taking said men to Huntlee, obviously this was a further distance so therefore more money. Rang the Company for them to pretty much tell me oh well an to wait another 15minutes for another taxi.

We continued to stand in the cold for another 40 minutes until the next taxi arrived.

We were made to pay the after 10pm surcharge as apparently said company couldn’t authorise for it to be taken off even though the first taxi arrived quite some time before 10pm.

Poor management an no care at all. The company has Definitely gone down hill & the reviews show that.

Called for a short ride in the afternoon, driver arrived within 5 or 10 minutes. Friendly, and there was a cab stand near where I was shopping. I didn't know how long I would be but there was a cab waiting there to take me back. He said he had no other jobs at that munite and it was a good place to wait. Great one for me.

Cessnock taxi service is absolutely pitiful. On the weekend we had a booking in the vineyard for 10:50am so we booked a taxi the day before to be picked up at our motel at 10:30, which would have been plenty of time to get to where we were going.

At 10:30 the taxi had not arrived so we called the company and they said the taxi was on it's way, at 10:45 we rang again as the taxi had still not arrived and we were told that the taxi was on it's way it had just left Branxton.

We ended up driving ourselves out to our booking and were late for the tour we had booked.

The taxi company made no apology for not sending the taxi at the booked time. There is no point in making a booking as this company has no intention of honouring it's commitment.

It is no wonder that people are turning away from taxis and going to other share ride companies.

I will NEVER USE this service again.

We reluctantly booked a taxi 2 weeks ago to go from Harrigans pub to Restaurant Botanica. We did it reluctantly because of the other reviews on here. I was expecting them not to turn up or be late and for the service to be awful. It was quite the opposite.

They arrived on time, a lovely friendly local lady driver who took us to our destination in just over 10 minutes. She told us to book a return cab when we were finishing our meal which we did. They arrived again within 5 minutes.

It was a Sunday night and they had limited taxis on the road, but we could not have been more impressed. It's not cheap, $35 for 11 kms and 10 minutes, but well worth it! Don't even think about having a drink and driving. There are too many kangaroos and wombats on top of the normal risks!

To all prospective passengers - DON'T DO IT! I wish I could rate it less than 1 star!! Last weekend we were part of a group of 10 who visited the Hunter. To enable a night out we rang to enquire as to how much it would cost to hire a Maxi Taxi from our accommodation to Emersons Restaurant. Initially we were told $75 return. On the day of booking we asked again and were told $35 or at worst $40 each way because it was a Maxi Taxi. We booked the taxi for 7.00 pm however at 7.05 when it hadn't arrived we rang and were told 'another 5 minutes'. At 7.20 the maxi arrived. We boarded and headed for Emersons. When we arrived the meter read $57.55. I questioned the amount on the basis we had been quoted only $40. The arrogance of the driver was breathtaking and he repeatedly advised 'they (the base) shouldn't give quotes'. I continued to debate the point but to no avail. He kept saying to my husband 'just tap the card' - a reference to eftpos. He duly did and by way of receipt he was given a printed 'cash receipt' for $57.55. When we returned home we reviewed our bank statement and to our horror we have in fact been charged $60.62! This firm is unethical. The driver was a 'moron' and it is an experience we are all trying to forget. On the recommendation of the restaurant for our return we booked with 'Wine Road Tours' which was a far more pleasant experience and although booked 'after 10' when the first mob advised they would add a 20% surcharge, we were charged only $50 - a fixed charge of $5 per head. Stupidly we ignored the previous negative reviews for Cessnock Radio Cabs - we really wish we hadn't.

Tried to rip me off by going a long way.

Cessnock cabs are the only cab company in the area and are by far the worse cab company i have ever come across! The lady who answers the phone is extremely rude and unpleasant. We tried to make a booking half an hour ahead of time and were told to call back when we were ready to be collected. We tried numerous times to call back when we were ready but no one was answering. When we finally got through (after about half an hour) the lady was very rude and unhelpful and hung up on us. We continued to call back for another half an hour and finally got through again. She couldnt give us an appox time for collection and again hung up. We were left stranded at 11.30pm in the middle of no where because this stupid lady was being difficult. We managed to get a ride home with someone at about 12pm thankfully. DO NOT RELY ON THIS COMPANY AS YOU WILL BE LEFT STRANDED!
