Independent Kitchens & Joinery is based in Cootamundra NSW.
Independent Kitchens & Joinery was established in 2008 by owners James & Rebecca Philpott. As locals to the area and having worked with many clients and sub-trades throughout the region, we at Independent Kitchens and Joinery have developed a trusted reliable reputation to help you through the whole construction process.
In 2010 we moved into our purpose built factory on Gundagai Road Cootamundra and invested in CNC machining and design technology. This has enabled us to keep up with the demands involved in cabinet construction with precision CNC machining. Also having our own 2 Pac painting facility on our site gives us the versatility of providing this high quality finish along with Thermo laminated and Melamine finishes.

Our modern showroom is continually changing to provide you with the latest products and styles available. From the large highly detailed kitchen with profiled doors and solid surface bench tops to the small scale kitchenette with melamine doors and laminated bench top we have the ability to fit into any budget. We assist in the entire process from design and construction to organising your Electrician, Plumber and Plasterer to complete your kitchen renovation with as little stress as possible for you.

How long has Independent Kitchens been in business?

Do I need to organise council permission for a kitchen renovations?
No council approval is required when renovating kitchens and bathrooms.
Does Independent Kitchens charge to come out to my house for quotations?
There is no charge for local quotes covering Cootamundra and Canberra . We’re also travel to rural areas, which may incur a charge, we will discuss this at time of booking for a quote. Multiple options will have some costs involved that will contribute to a deposit on quote acceptance.
How much time should I allow for a quote?
Typically, most initial consultations for kitchen quotes take about an hour. Laundry and bathroom quotes are usually around 30 minutes.
Can you provide a full service including trades so I don’t need to worry about a thing?
We actually prefer to do it this way. This gives us greater control and ensures all trades turns up when they are booked.
Does Independent Kitchens sell appliances?
We can supply your appliances with access to premium Belling Design Collection, Platinum Appliances & IAG Appliances and Harvey Norman Commercial for a larger range to help with you decision.
How long will my kitchen take to build?
We suggest that customers expect their renovation to take around a week to 30 days, depending on the scope of the works.
Can I supply my own bench tops and appliances?
We understand that a kitchen is not a one size fits all. We can supply the kitchen and you can purchase your own benchtops and appliances from a supplier of your choice.
Will I lose my services for an extended period?
With any renovation where plumbers and electricians are required there will always be a period where the services will be disconnected. We endeavour to ensure that time is as brief as possible to minimise the impact to your household. In reality most of the work is undertaken when the services are still connected ensuring the ‘down time’ is as brief as possible.
