charges for services that were not part of the overall fee, would not discuss the wrong charging, bully tactics and waited until the period to complain had commenced before sending legal letters.

I came to this firm for a divorce. It was very uncomplicated; no children and no disputes over valuations and property split.

I wanted assistance with two items (eg discharge of mortgage) but was told to do that myself.

I was encouraged to dispute property distribution, which meant I achieved a slightly higher settlement, but the amount was almost completely absorbed by the extra costs for the time involved.

In all it seemed like they wanted to create disputes where none existed to increase the costs.

On one phone call asking whether they could meet a deadline and was told "I don't know" I terminated their services, I then was forced to pay their bill in full before they'd release any of MY paperwork which was needed to complete the divorce with a different solicitor. What's more, after termination, they wrote me a letter explaining why I shouldn't have terminated them, and SENT ME A BILL for the said letter.

Not happy, and ended up in conflict with them. It is not good to get involved in conflict with a legal firm, I can assure you. Would never recommend them to anyone.
