Disgraceful Treatment and Lack of Action

We recently experienced a serious and potentially deadly incident at work, and the police response has been nothing short of disgraceful. Despite repeated calls and visits to the station, our concerns were not taken seriously, and the handling of our case has been appalling.

The first time we went in, the officer said he would provide a case number and be in contact with us—this never happened. When we followed up in person, we were met by Louise, whose attitude was beyond unacceptable. She was rude, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional for someone in a position meant to support the community. Instead of listening to us, she continually brushed off our concerns, downplayed the seriousness of the situation, and made sarcastic comments like, “I’ve got 48 other cases to deal with.”

When we questioned why nothing was being done, she lashed out, snapping at us and defending the officer assigned to our case, saying, “Well, he’s entitled to days off.” This was never the issue—we simply wanted someone else to take over, given the urgency. Her arrogance and unwillingness to help were staggering.

When we refused to leave without answers, she stormed off, saying, “FINE, I’ll get someone—not that it will make a difference,” with complete contempt for our concerns. Eventually, another officer came out, and we discovered that the original officer had written down completely incorrect details about our case. This was proof that they weren’t listening from the start, showing not only incompetence but a complete lack of care for public safety.

The lack of urgency and compassion left us feeling abandoned and infuriated. Physical evidence has been sitting for days, unexamined, while we potentially remain in danger. To make matters worse, Louise’s condescending attitude made it clear that she didn’t see us or our concerns as worth her time. It was disgusting behaviour, and if Google reviews were enabled, I have no doubt they’d be flooded with similar complaints about her.

We also couldn’t shake the feeling that my colleagues were treated as less credible because of their race. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and has no place in policing.

This experience has left us feeling vulnerable and unsupported by those who are meant to protect us. It’s a disgrace, and I genuinely don’t feel safe knowing this is the level of care and professionalism we’re dealing with. The fact that we are in potential danger and have been ignored speaks volumes about the broken system we are facing.

6 hour response time

10min drive, 6 hour response time. They never even checked to see if the person I called police on was ok
