Hunt Engineering is a multi‑division engineering firm based in Melbourne, servicing clients Australia‑wide. Its structure integrates four complementary divisions: Hopleys Fabrication (steel and sheet metal fabrication), Hunt Lasercut (precision laser cutting), Hopleys Joist (open web steel joists), and Tank Industries (water storage tank design, manufacture and installation). Having these capabilities under one umbrella allows seamless coordination across complex projects and full lifecycle support from design through manufacturing and installation.
In the fabrication division, Hunt Engineering offers a comprehensive suite of metalwork services: bending, folding, rolling, welding, guillotining, punching, structural steel fabrication and finishes such as galvanising and powder coating. The laser‑cutting arm features state‑of‑the‑art machinery capable of cutting a variety of metals (mild steel up to 20 mm, stainless steel to 16 mm, aluminium, copper, brass, galvanised metals) with edge finishing and rotary axis capabilities. Quoting and programming use advanced software (BySoft 7™) for nesting and efficient parsing of DXF/DWG files for production.
Hopleys Joist creates open web steel joist systems (HJ and HB series) from lightweight galvanised steel, engineered for ease of installation, resistance to warping, and allowing services (wiring, plumbing) to pass through without clashing. The Tank Industries unit designs and supplies modular water storage tanks (10 kL to 10 ML) plus supporting infrastructure (foundations, pump houses) and can manage turnkey projects. With the Tank division’s acquisition by EVZ Limited in 2022, the company continues to maintain relationships and expand its engineering service reach.
