I called Coughlans after realising I’d made a mistake with our booking and had been charged for lessons we didn’t use. I explained the situation politely and acknowledged it was my error. The first staff member told me she didn’t have the authority to help — essentially we have your money, and we’re not planning to give anything in return. Not exactly a warm Christmas message for a new customer.
I then requested a call back from someone who could assist. Matt called later that day and offered makeup sessions, but only for 50% of what we missed. He also insisted I wasn’t entitled to the remaining 50%, saying “your monthly subscription entitles only three sessions per month.” (Anyone able to name a month with only three weeks in it?)
I wasn’t even asking for a refund — just reasonable makeup lessons — and I had been polite and upfront about my mistake.
Overall, I left the interaction feeling disappointed and somewhat taken advantage of for the repeated “it’s in the contract you acknowledged online statements”.
Merry Christmas, I guess — it seems they view customers more as a steady monthly cash flow than people trying to navigate their overly complex entitlements.
Do not recommend based on my experience.
