What happens if my funding runs out?
If your funding is running low, talk to your coordinator or plan manager to adjust spending or explore review options.
How do I request a plan review if my needs change?
If your needs change, you can request a plan review through the NDIS.
What is the difference between plan-managed, self-managed, and NDIA-managed?
Self-managed gives the most flexibility, plan-managed allows unregistered providers, and NDIA-managed requires registered providers.
What supports can the NDIS fund for me?
The NDIS can fund a range of supports to assist with daily life, work, and community participation, provided they are considered "reasonable and necessary". These can include assistance with personal care, household tasks, and transport, as well as capital supports like home modifications and assistive technology. Funding is also available for capacity building, such as skill development, and various therapeutic supports.
How do I apply for the NDIS?
To apply, you need to complete an Access Request and provide medical evidence about your disability.
How do I change NDIS providers?
Yes, you can change providers. Just check your service agreement for notice periods.
How do I find the right NDIS provider for my needs?
You can choose any provider that meets your needs and aligns with your goals.
How do I know if a provider is registered or unregistered, and what’s the difference?
You can find a registered provider on the NDIS website's Provider Finder tool and by looking for the NDIS logo. The main difference is that registered providers meet the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's standards and can claim NDIS funding directly, while unregistered providers do not meet these standards, and you or your plan manager must pay them and manually claim reimbursement.
Am I eligible for the NDIS?
You may be eligible if your disability is permanent, significantly affects daily life, and you are under 65.
How do I use my NDIS plan once it’s approved?
Your NDIS plan is split into Core, Capacity Building, and Capital budgets, each for different types of supports.
