The Cheesecake Shop

My wife and I went to use a voucher here and was treated horribly because the staff member would only allow the voucher to be used on a full cake when I only wanted a half. Nowhere on the voucher did it say that it was only to be used on a full cake. How can going and buying half a cake get someone so upset?
