What is Aquatic Physiotherapy? (Hydrotherapy) Physiotherapy exercises in water
Aquatic physiotherapy is a gentler form of exercise compared with water aerobics. The water provides a low-gravity, relaxing environment in which to exercise. It is not necessary to be able to swim. Elizabeth will tailor your treatment specifically for you. More information is available from our office or please read the attached information sheet.
Do I need a Doctor's referral to see a Physiotherapist?
No referral is required for Private patients Work Cover, Insurance or Department of Veterans' Affairs patients must have a doctors referral.
Do you Bulk Bill?
Normally, Medicare does not cover Physiotherapy, but if your doctor considers that you have an ongoing chronic condition, then you can be put on a Care Plan and receive up to 5 services per calendar year which can be shared between Physiotherapy and other Allied Health Practitioners. We gladly except Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plans. We charge our fee for the first visit and then bulk bill the remaining visits on the plan.
How many visits / treatments do I need to attend?
The number of visits to a physiotherapist will depend on the severity of the injury / condition, and the progress of your recovery.
