Refused toilet facilities.

Travelling from Innisfail to Cairns with my wife on Sunday afternoon the 15/03/2020, my 73 year old wife needed to use the toilet ( she suffers from Diabetes and has a medical problem which requires frequent toileting stops) we were horrified to be told that she could not use the toilet?, as a result we had stop along the h/way and let nature take it’s course.

SHAME, SHAME on management of Fishery Falls Hotel!!!!!

Staying at the adjacent caravan park which was great. However, the only good thing to say about he pub is that the beer was cold.
The food was terrible. Burnt Chicken Scnitzel and Chips. When I spoke with the so called cook! (and no she cannot cook) I was told that the chicken on the insoide "isnt burnt" and thats how we "always" eat our food. The manager backed the cook up, as did the errand biy who runs from the kitchen to the clients.
Thursday night we were there, and yep, we were only 2 of 7 clients in total. The other 5 were obviously locals, who more than likely eat at home or travel elsewhere to get a decent unburnt meal. Never again.

Thought we'd drop in for a steak. The woman and man running the kitchen (perhaps the pub too?) were not altogether friendly. When at five to six I asked to see a menu ( the kitchen opens at six), the woman's curt reply was "we're not open yet."

We had a rib steak for $20. Add $2 for chips and $4 for salad, that takes it to $26, for which you'd expect a decent product. For the children we ordered potato wedges, which at $12 a plate you'd expect to be something special. No siree. Steak was full of fat and gristle and it tasted as though it had been stewed on cold grill or cooked from frozen. The steak was also under-cooked, so that it appeared a pink and white roadkill on the plate. I made my way around the outside of the steak, where it least it was cooked, albeit stewed. Sauce was some generic concoction you decant from a container or make from a powder.

We left $60 poorer, and somewhat traumatised. Wouldn't go back to this place; not much to recommend it.

We stopped by this hotel on the the way home from Josephine falls today to get lunch and a cold beer. Beer was ice cold, reasonable price too, but when it came to the meal well you could have grown a beard waiting for it to arrive. It took from 1.30 to 2.30pm to make a fish and chips and a bacon & egg sandwich and there was only about 20 people there. Would be nice if they told you b4 you order that this was the wait time. Food was okay I guess when it did finally come.
