We paid 450$ to leave the car in a undercover parking at Great Keppel Island Security Car Park for 32 days (but charged for 33days as he charge a full day even if the car would get picked up in the morning). After we paid we realised that the car must have been parked outside under a tree for a while because there was a lot of sap on the bonnet and bull bar. The front window and side windows where so sticky we had to go straight to a place to wash it to be able to drive safe. We noticed that the side ladder got scratched during those weeks as well.
When we came back from Great Keppel to pick our car the Owner tried to ask more money than what we were supposed to pay (45$ more in total than agreed price per week/day and saying that’s the discounted price).
We sent an email regarding the stains and scratches a few days after and got the reply that we caused the sap stains ourselves (the five weeks spent on keppel island, plus the scratch…) and continuing saying he has no problem taking this to court (which we would pay for because he has enough proof etc) and that the car should have been moved out of the shed only once and not parked under a tree (we have proof of the car being parked outside at one time). It was impossible to get anywhere else and he totally denied that they in any way would be responsible for the stains.
As the parking at the marina is for free and really safe we definitely not recommend this place.
Just a waste of money.
(The picture of the stains are after trying to clean the sap away)
If you really want to leave your car there, take pictures and videos before you park it and after just in case.
In our case as explained before the owner said that the sap and the scratch were already there before, which is not true…
Sad to pay a lot of money to get the car back all stained, the paint job ruined and the ladder scratch, and to be blamed for it when acknowledging the issue. Be aware and stay away if possible.
