I took out comprehensive Travel Insurance with Worldcare I fell over in Europe and broke my foot. Ended up in a cast, on crutches and no weight bearing. I could not walk now and had to come home. Treatment was rest and elevation of limb for six weeks. This was discussed with Worldcare. Once home we submitted our claim. We were paid for trip to hospital but were told there was no medical reason to come home we just changed plans. We also found that we were dealing with Allianz not Worldcare. Allianz thought that I should have stayed in Europe.. This would have required me to hop through Europe on one leg for the remaining four weeks of our trip . A trip which involved walking up to 10 - 15 kilometres a day on average. Their overseas help line was woeful. "We will help with medical problems' they told me to get an XRay. 'We will help you find the nearest medical treatment facility'. They told us to find a hospital and go there. Later when we tried to contact them by phone and the phone remained unanswered after 17 minutes. I would never buy insurance from Worldcare or Allianz again.

My priority was to have an insurance policy I could rely on and I found their service non existent. My son suffered a seizure on a flight. Our first day was spent in a hospital with a doctor's report recommending our son have plenty of rest and less light in the return flight. So I phoned the Worldcare emergency number to be answered by an IVR system, not a person. I then emailed their claims email address in order to get 2 fares changed to better seats for my son and at least one parent. Their response so far: not even an acknowledgement of the email. So, if you want support from your insurance provider, look to another provider. It's also disappointing that your procedures allowed us to fall through the cracks and that management don't appear to have been informed or that the issue hasn't been escalated.
