Our Psychologist - Kristie Schirmer has been practicing psychology since 1998. Kristie provides a professional, non-judgmental, respectful and confidential environment where upsetting or challenging situations or events can be discussed and where alternative methods for dealing with those situations or events can be explored. What sort of services will be provided at One Psychology?
Services are aimed at assisting you to learn more effective ways of managing your life experiences, stressors, current situation and circumstances. Some examples include education, skills training (such as stress, anxiety, breathing, relaxation, anger management, assertiveness, social skills, parenting), cognitive behaviour therapy & interpersonal therapy, mindfulness, behaviour management, depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, separation anxiety, school refusal & self-esteem.
What will it cost and how many appointments are allowed for an individual?
There is a fee to attend appointments, which will be discussed with you when you contact us to make an appointment. If you are eligible, you will receive a rebate from Medicare or through your private health fund. There is no limit on how many appointments you can attend. However, you will only receive Medicare rebates for a maximum of 10 appointments per the calendar year. After that time, you can choose to continue in appointments but will no longer receive a rebate through Medicare.
How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment, please call our office to arrange an appointment time. If we are unable to take your call, please leave a voice message with your name and preferred contact number. We will call you back as soon as we can. You do not need a referral from a GP or other health professional to attend appointments at One Psychology. However, in order to receive a rebate through Medicare, you will need a current Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist.
