FAQschevron down

How wide can you trench?

. I can trench anything from 30mm to 320mm wide depending on the machine used.

What areas will you travel to?

. I've been trenching everywhere from Northern Queensland to northern New South Wales.

Is this a faster way to have a trench dug?

At Bill Murray Trenching we only use Chain trenchers as they are more time efficient than an excavator as an excavator stops trenching periodically to lift up its bucket in order to dump soil. In comparison, the chain trencher just keeps cutting.

. How long have you been a trencher operator?

I have been trenching on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas since 1992

. How many metres per hour can you dig?

On average between 80 and 100 metres per hour at 600mm deep but more if it's shallower

How tidy will the site be on completion?

The soil from excavators is removed in clumps - even more in black soil. The trenchers grind soil into a fine state, which makes good backfill. The soil can be placed on either side of the trench, whichever you require.

. How deep can you trench with the two small machines?

These will both dig up to 600mm deep

How deep can you trench with the two large machines?

Up to a metre deep

What areas do you service?

We provide trench digging across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gympie/Cooloola regions for both residential, rural and civil.

Why would I want to use a tencher instead of an excavator or backhoe?

When using a trencher the result is an even trench floor. This is superior to the use of an excavator, as an excavator will produce an uneven trench floor as they dig down.
