      Are there any side-effects?

      Side-effects are rare but you may experience some redness of the skin or even some slight swelling which can last around a day. In some cases, you may experience "scabbing" which will only last a short period of time. This is normal and may occur more frequently when stronger settings are needed. There should be little discomfort during treatment. There is the typical "rubber-band" flicking or zapping sensation.


      How about waxing, shaving or creams?

      Waxing - Painful, messy and needs to be repeated. Those ingrown - OUCH! Good for the salon, bad for your hip pocket. Shaving - Do you like a 5 o'clock shadow on your legs? You will get stronger and denser hair re-growth with shaving. Depilation creams - Messy, repetitive, slow and smelly. IPL is the most effective treatment for permanent hair reduction on the market today.


      What should I do before a session?

      You should take the following steps: Stay out of the sun for a month before treatment commences and use 30+SPF sun protection when out in the sun, avoid "fake tan" and sun-beds for at least a month, avoid waxing, plucking hair or bleaching for at least a month. Shaving is recommended as it prepares the hair for better treatment.
