Tassie Fridge Seals services all areas of the state with trained and experienced staff.
If the door seal on your fridge or freezer is poorly fitting, aged or damaged, your refrigeration appliance cannot operate at its best level of efficiency. There are a number of symptoms which indicate that your fridge or freezer door seal may require replacement. The most common are: – Door not closing properly – Moisture below the fridge door – High electricity bills – Fridge motor running for long periods of time – Excessive icing in freezer compartment – Cracks in door seal or incomplete seal Even if there are no obvious problems with your refrigeration service it pays to check your seals at regular intervals to ensure that the door is sealing correctly so that your chilled and frozen items are protected. A leaky seal can waste a lot of electricity, so prompt replacement of a faulty one can save you money.
Tassie Fridge Seals was founded in 1997. After the business and a solid customer base was established, the business was sold to Kerry Summers in 1998 who is the present owner and manager of Tassie Fridge Seals. Mouldy, hardened or cracked fridge seals can cause a multitude of problems in commercial and household fridges and freezers. When door seals are in this condition food can become unhygienic due to ineffective refrigeration. Furthermore, worn seals places unnecessary stress on the fridge or freezer motor as it tries to compensate for cooling loss, the result of which can be prematurely worn parts and high electricity bills. Commercial businesses have commented that they have seen a considerable drop in their electricity bills after their fridge seals were replaced. Inspect your fridge and freezer seals today. Open the door or lid and look for cracks, mould and tears on all parts of the seal. Don't forget to inspect the hard to see places such as the bottom of the door as damage to seals frequently occurs here and is often unnoticed, compromising the fridge or freezer's effectiveness. Also, close the door and check the top and bottom of the door to ensure that the seal is adhering to the fridge. Repeat this process on the left and right sides of your fridge door.
Replacing a damaged seal could give a fridge or freezer a new lease of life and was far more cost-effective than replacing the entire unit. How is the seal made?
Different fridges use different seals. When the correct seal type is determined and its measurements recorded, four lengths, representing each side of the door are cut to size and welded together using specialist, customised equipment that ensures a precise and accurate size.
How long will it take for my seal to be fitted after I order?
If you are in Hobart, Launceston or Burnie, the whole process of quotation, making and fitment of seals is done in a minimal amount of time. If you are outside of these areas, fitment can take slightly longer, but regular trips to all parts of the state are made to ensure you do not have to wait any longer than necessary.
How can I tell if my existing fridge seal needs replacing?
If your seal is mouldy, cracked, brittle, torn or not sealing with the fridge or freezer, a new seal is required.
Who can Tassie Fridge Seals provide seals to?
Tassie Fridge Seals can provide seals to all private and commercial customers, including restaurants, motels, hotels and large chain stores. Even larger seals for commercial meat room applications or frozen goods outlets can be made, where superior fit and quality are essential.
Does Tassie Fridge Seals provide seals for freezers?
Yes, all sizes, all models.
My fridge is badly iced up; could the fridge seal be the cause?
Yes, it is highly likely that a worn or defective seal is the cause of this problem. If the system is not sealed correctly, the fridge has to work much harder to remain cool, commonly causing an excess build-up of ice.
