Deep Concerns About Teaching Quality and Leadership at East Doncaster Secondary College

My experience with East Doncaster Secondary College has been extremely disappointing, particularly with Year 9 English and Humanities subject teachers in 2025. The issues we faced include:

Poor teaching quality: Lessons lacked structure and engagement, and students were not supported to achieve their potential.

Unprofessional conduct: Teachers displayed favoritism, resisted constructive feedback, and retaliated against students who raised concerns by making class participation difficult and assigning unfair marks.

Leadership concerns: The assistant principal was especially rude and uncooperative. Instead of addressing issues fairly, leadership appeared to protect staff misconduct. In one upsetting instance, students were pressured to admit to actions they never committed.

Cultural insensitivity and bias: There were instances suggesting discrimination and a lack of inclusivity.

These behaviours are unacceptable and harmful to students’ education and well-being. For the sake of your child’s future, I strongly recommend considering alternative schools. I am relieved my child has left this environment.

My experience with East Doncaster Secondary College has been extremely disappointing, particularly with Year 9 English and Humanities subject teachers in 2025.

The issues we faced include:

Poor teaching quality: Lessons lacked structure and engagement, and students were not supported to achieve their potential. The Humanities teacher was frequently absent from class yet set unrealistic expectations for students to complete projects. Many times, answers were sourced directly from Google, which is not convincing for a qualified educator.

Unprofessional conduct: Teachers displayed favouritism, resisted constructive feedback, and retaliated against students who raised concerns by making class participation difficult and assigning unfair marks.

Leadership concerns: The assistant principal was especially rude and uncooperative. Instead of addressing issues fairly, leadership appeared to protect staff misconduct. In one upsetting instance, students were pressured to admit to actions they never committed.

Super rude receptionist

Every time I called you or had to talk to the receptionist, I immediately felt uncomfortable by the way she talked or acted made me think I did something wrong to her, very rude in an unacceptable level

School puts students on disability funding to get more funding

The school (especially the Complimentary Learning Support Coordinator) puts students on disability funding even though they don't have a disability. They use student's names to help themselves to more funding for the school. AVOID!
