Sanctuary House Resort Motel

Visited Healesville Sanctuary recently with the family and had a great time. The bird show was fantastic and highly recommended. We also purchased the 'Close encounter' experience ($10 per person) with kangaroos and a tree kangaroo which allowed my son to feed (kangaroos) and pat the animals which he enjoyed immensely. The 'Close encounter' experience is also highly recommended as it allows you to get up close to the native animals and well worth the $10 IMO.

Recommended to get there early in order to make it to some of the shows and some 'close encounters' are popular so fill up quick.

Healseville is a very impressive wildlife sanctuary / zoo which has pioneered many advanced. Make sure you get there in time for the first bird show where eagles and other raptors zoom over the audience in a very professional show. You also may get to see a bird that has learnt to use a rock as a tool to crack a difficult egg. It never disappoints and children are free on the weekends.
