Great shop, plenty of good quality fish reptiles and equipment, great helpful staff too

I was in the store a couple of Saturdays ago and the place was a buzz with the recent worksafe inspection. Apparently the electricals are dangerous and there is asbestos in the roof that is broken. The area in question has huge holes in the ceiling and the water rushes in when it's raining. I found it interesting that the staff didn't seem to mind who heard and were bitching about the boss not caring about them or customers safety. The daughter of the boss was there saying some of the items were a load of rubbish. Although she was in the office, she could clearly be heard from the shop. Very sad to hear staff and customers safety means so little to these people. Won't be back.

Prices are much higher than other aquariums on many items but convenience of location to home is too good to ignore. My parents came into get medicine for their tank. A man with dreadlocks served them and sold them 2 bottles of essentially the same thing. When they asked if they were the same product he went into a talk about how they are different. After i told them it was they returned to the store and saw another staff member who confirmed what i said. This is an appalling way to treat any customer let alone an elderly couple. The way to get customers in the door is to treat them with respect and have competitive prices. Also having the owners daughter leaving a positive review under her name, just shows again that you think customers are stupid. Will not be back neither will any of my friends. Wake up to yourselves ripping people off and thinking they are dumb will not build your business.

This place is always worth a visit for all the wide and wonderful creatures you can see. It has some impressive aquariums with full-on coral reefs. It also has a whole room full of snakes and lizards - very interesting for international visitors. We go their for fish and fish food for our ponds and we have a reasonable success rate for our fish. The other local alternative is the aquarium in Highett which has also been there forever and might be worth a try.
