If you are thinking of building or in talks with Dennis family homes in Geelong do not continue. They are incompetent and dodgy and under new management.

Long story short DFH would not provide us a complete final contract for us to view prior to signing - which didn’t include engineering drawings, insurance certificate, had incorrect colour selections, non complete building drawings, incorrect dates for price holding which left us open for additional costings, variations that were not actioned or included. DFH also included variation clauses within the contract which left us open for possible additional costings during the build. We questioned DFH about this they replied these clauses were “standard” in all their contracts (which we found untrue).At this stage we did not trust DFH and proceeded to have the contract reviewed by a third party company and this company said the contract was in breach of building act by 50 penalty points and called these open additional cost clauses “variation risks” and advised us to get the builder to remove them. DFH refused to remove the additional cost open clauses or provide a complete contract for us to view prior to signing. In an email they told us to trust them and basically tried to coerce us to sign this incomplete contract and if we didn’t they would cancel the contract which they ended up doing and cost us a lot of time and money!
