The Oven Doctor

Had the oven doctor out to fix my thermostat. Was very impressed by the efficiency of the service. After dealing with many 'pretenders' in the trade business it was nice to have a real deal. I read some past reviews saying how 'abrupt' he was. Couldn't care less about his manner. He was polite and informative and got the job done without fuss. I understand why oven people don't give quotes as by the time you pull out the oven and find out what's wrong- correcting it is the quick easy part. I found his cost reasonable and broken down into parts and labour so I could easy see the breakdown. If you want someone to befriend you go buy a dress, if you want someone to quickly work out what's wrong with your oven and fix it without ripping you off or walking away because it's too difficult then call this guy. A++++ service.

We used the services of the Oven 'Doctor' when the seal on our oven door became faulty. He replaced the seal which took approximately 2 mins and charged us $160! When the oven was still struggling prior to Xmas eve (we had 15 people around for Xmas day so this was a major issue) we got him back Xmas eve morning (which was apparently extremely "inconvenient") for him to discover the temperature wasn't correct but he didn't have time to hang around to fully check it - surely he should have tested his 'fix' the first time around instead of running out of the door after 2 mins. His advice was that apparently you have to wait 45 mins to preheat an oven - I've since checked and you should only have to preheat the oven for approx. 10mins (15 mins max). The guy talks rubbish to a customer assuming they don't know about ovens to get himself out of a spot and then charged us $20 for his time!! I wouldn't recommend the Oven 'Doctor' to anyone, there are plenty of other more competent oven technicians out there - look elsewhere!!
