What things need testing in a workplace?
Any corded electrical equipment that connects to 240v or 415v power must be inspected, tested and tagged in all workplaces.
How often should fire extinguishers be serviced/inspected?
If an electrical appliance fails its Test & Tag inspection (or a fire‑safety item fails its service inspection), we will clearly document the fault and recommend repair or replacement. Unsafe items must be disconnected or marked out of service until they are made safe again.
How often do I need to have my electrical equipment tested and tagged?
It depends on the type of workplace and how the equipment is used. As a general guide: For high‑risk environments (construction, building, demolition) — every 3months.
What is Test & Tag / electrical safety testing — and do I need it?
Test & Tag is the process of having portable electrical appliances and flexible‑corded equipment inspected, tested and tagged with a date and due‑date label to ensure they remain safe for use.
Who can perform test & tag?
Under the latest standard AS/NZS 3760:2022 testing and tagging may be performed by a licensed electrician or any person deemed competent through appropriate training and experience.
What kind of businesses do you service?
Whether you run a small office, a workshop, a factory, a school or a retail shop or even a farm we've got you covered.
Can AmbaGuard provide more than one service?
Yes — we can conduct a comprehensive safety audit of your site. This includes assessing electrical safety, fire‑safety equipment, emergency lighting, general compliance and any other safety hazards. After the audit we’ll provide a full report with recommendations to keep your workplace safe and compliant
Do we need to get a first aid kit for our workplace?
Yes, all workplaces are required to have at least one first aid kit, in some cases you may require multiple kits on site.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance or reminders for future testing or servicing?
Yes. As part of our service we can set up a maintenance schedule with reminder notices for when your next is due. This means you don’t have to track dates manually — we help you stay ahead of compliance.
