Promised a certain timeline which doesn’t happen. No preemptive communication, you have to call the office to get an update (that’s if they give you one). Then you want to speak with a manager who doesn’t return calls. Product is fine, just a normal roller shutter better go else where.

The worst experience when trying to support small business. We're now at 14 weeks!

Cannot communicate, every update I have needed, has been from calls from myself. Never meets timeline promises, never returns calls, even the manager. Now its summer, have bare windows as roller blinds were wrong - 4 weeks ago! Told today being remade, well what have you been waiting for?

Still waiting on plantations, promised before Christmas.

Am going to consumer affairs.



Avoid Open & Shut!

I followed up a few times about their price beat guarantee as they had the most expensive quote out of the three quotes that I was given, only to be dodged and then just completely ignored. Sent through the competitors quote and everything like they asked and still haven’t heard back..

My initial quote took 2 weeks to come through and it was just sent as a txt message, not a proper professional quote like the other companies sent me. I will definitely be avoiding this company in the future when it comes time for further home renovations..

I just bought a new home and wanted a security door as one of the doors were missing one. We wanted one ASAP as our house is in a newly developed area which makes it a little exposed. It’s been 3 weeks and we still can’t get a measure which is meant to happen within 7 business days. Very bad communication, installer gives you 15 minutes notice eventhough I’ve advised them not during school drop off and pick up time, which he has conveniently done twice. Another time, he called midday to arrange an appointment later in the afternoon, no phone call - no show. Now, we are wanting our deposit back which they won’t give. Currently seeking advice from Consumer & Business Services. So if you want the headaches and the run around plus no service then go ahead with these guys. Will definitely not recommend

The lovely Jess gave us a quote & explained all our options. No pressure sales. Marchin & Nathan installed our 4 front shutters in horrendous weather conditions. Really lovely, friendly guys . The electrician came as part of the price as an added bonus. We couldnt be happier with this company & are getting quotes on Monday for more. Would highly recommend,. Thanks guys, awesome job. Adding to my previous review, I should state that the job we had done by Open n Shut was an external, hard wired electric roller shutter and also required a high scaffold to reach the first storey window. Everything was organised by Liam without any issues or extra costs. The price quoted for the shutter, electrician, installer and scaffold did not change. But, one OTHER company i got a quote from said I'd have to pay extra for the electrician and scaffold if required by those contractors! So again, Open n Shut is definitely the company to choose :-)

After doing the routine 3 quotes, I decided to choose Open n Shut and it was the perfect choice. From beginning to end the job was performed promptly and with excellent communication and customer service from Liam and his crew. Also, their quote was by far the best and a true reflection of 'factory direct' price advertising.
