Avoid Citric Digital / Bayside Technology Group – A Costly Mistake

Avoid Citric Digital / Bayside Technology Group – A Costly Mistake

In April 2025, I hired a marketer named Tim from Airtasker for a $200 job. He convinced me to take it off-platform to avoid fees. That task was never completed.

He then upsold me a $1,000/month package promising Facebook/Instagram setup, ad campaigns, SEO, photo editing, and Google Ads. Then came an extra $750 charge for a “Google Ads specialist” named Angela—who never contacted me, despite two weeks of excuses.

I was charged a total of $1,936, including GST—without proper breakdown or agreement. I received no tangible work, just vague replies, constant delays, and templated emails meant to appear professional while dodging accountability.

His tactics are calculated: endless distractions, slick wording, and a portal full of meaningless tickets. Even the original Airtasker task—removing a “7-year warranty” line from my website—wasn’t done.

Worse, I later found that his ABN was previously cancelled, and the business was re-registered under a new number—often a red flag. He operates under two names: Citric Digital and Bayside Technology Group, depending on what suits him. That’s misleading at best.

Every time I pushed for answers or a refund, he sent vague copy-paste replies and avoided giving specifics. He’s evasive, manipulative, and plays the game well—but not this time.

I’ve since reported him to Consumer Affairs Victoria, Scamwatch, and my bank. VCAT is next.

If you value your time, money, or sanity—do not deal with this man or his business. He knows exactly how to take your money and leave you with nothing.

Tim, you’ve done this to the wrong person. I’ll make sure no one else falls for it.
