Poor workmanship and no integrity

Taylor Fencing Bayswater installed a palling fence at our rental property in February 2016. When we visited the property almost exactly 2 years later, we immediately noticed that our fence was leaning and warped. We were surprised that it was so badly warped only 2 years after being installed. At close examination one of the supporting posts on our neighbour’s side had become unstuck and was floating. This explained why it was leaning badly in this particular area. We contacted Taylors and they dodged any responsibility by saying the fence was outside their 12 month warranty period. They stated that ‘wet treated timber’ is not covered under any warranties due to the fact it moves, shrinks and warps as it dries out.

Where on their website or their quote form does it warned customers against using Wet treated timber? Why do other homes with similar timber not have warped and leaning fences within 2 years?

Once pressed, Taylor Fencing agreed to inspect our fence. It took 3 months of waiting, chasing and chasing for the fence to be inspected and to eventually be told, sorry it’s outside the warranty period and it’s not their problem. This time the excuse for our bowed fence was because it was painted on one side and not on both sides. However, nowhere in their reply did they address the issue of the floating post!

DO NOT USE TAYLOR FENCING BAYSWATER! They have no integrity, poor customer service and poor workmanship! Do a google search and you’ll see that we are not the only ones that have had a bad experience and had posts come unstuck within a short period. It speaks volumes about the quality of the timber they use and their workmanship. We sort the opinion of two fencing companies, who both confirmed that this should not happen within 2 years, even with wet treated timber and if not repaired soon, our fence will fall down.
