I don't know. It has taken me a few days to decide to write this so here it goes.
We have given the Granada Tavern enough chances already and the last one was las week. We were going to be in the area so we made a booking for 6:45pm and we were punctual. Only 2 adults and one child. On arrival we saw the very long line to order so I decided to queue while hubby (Chris) went to sit at the table with Mr 12, then he joined me, went for the drinks and joined me again. In total it was half hour in the queue to order. We finally ordered our meals and went to sit down. The place was half empty except for a very big party going on, must have had 60 people in two long tables so we understood service was busy and probably our meals would take a bit longer, half an hour, maybe? It's ok, we were willing to wait as we didn't have to be somewhere else until 8pm we had plenty of time....
First they served Mr 12. His bolognese was not very good he said but he's fussy so we didn't really think much about it and entertained ourselves with his chips. Hubby went for another beer, in total he had time to drink 3 beers and dinner was nowhere near. We saw people serving the tables and we could see they were very overwhelmed but hey, more than an hour has passed, we were overwhelmed, too. Nobody came to say anything or try to apologise for the delay. As understanding as we were one hour is more than enough.
We called the guy who looked in charge and he only listened to my hubby, when I opened my mouth he ignored me so I stopped talking. We told him we understand they have that big party going but it was 8:30pm already and we were beyond hungry now.
He called the manager and she explained again about the party. We understand but we think they are short of staff inside and outside the kitchen. They just can't cope with too many meals going on. Yes, there were like 60 people but no more than if the place was full at the tables since every family in that party ordered separately.
Magically our meals came out immediately but they were inedible. The garlic pawns were bland and only with lots of salt they tasted like something (and I don't put salt once the food is on the plate) hubby's roast was also very bad, he normally eats anything in front of him as long as its meat but really, it was that bad. Mr 12 bolognaise was inedible, too.
The manager said this is new, they are adapting but no, I said to her to look at their FB page there's a review from me a year ago complaining about the same thing and two years ago we brought visitors from overseas and it was the same story so no, it's nothing new and I very much doubt the party was to blame entirely.
We didn't eat our meals, it was close to 9pm We were offered either a refund or a voucher for our next visit but we preferred the refund as were not coming back.
I think it is actually my fault for coming back to a place that has been consistently bad, and I feel bad for this but I'm not willing to give it another go when there are places which offer better service and better food.
I'm sad because we did go once or twice and it was ok and in New Year's Eve we won a trip to Devonport thanks to the Granada. But enough is enough.

Went there based on their website which advertised a meal for a specific price. Asked at counter and it was not available. No effort made by staff member to apologise or make the offer available. In addition, a competition for which they had posters around the walls had no entry forms available.

A meal deal advertised on their website was not actually available at the Granada and their 'customer service' didn't accommodate it or apologise. I emailed their 'greatfoodgreatvalue' to inform them - no response. Lack of customer service is bad enough, but their meals are overpriced for what you get. Their mega-burger wasn't mega and it was boring. Priced at $25 it should have been realistically priced at $15.
