If I could give 0 stars, I would. Eugene is a very nice person, but he totally killed my hair. I don't know if he just didn't like me or what, but I brought in a photo of a beautiful ombre/balayage (seen here: http://s1.r29static.com//bin/entry/24b/x/1689368/image.png) and he turned my hair orange. There wasn't even any blending of the top black part INTO the orange, it was just a distinct line from black to orange, leaving me with a ridiculous cap of black hair on the top and fried orange hair on the bottom. He also put in some 90s highlights at the top of my head (wish I could post the photo!) making me look like an Asian Ginger Spice. He charged me $250 for this fright show.

When I went back 2 days later to complain and pointed out all the flaws (no blending/balayage/ombre AT ALL - just the stark black/orange, the color ITSELF of bright orange, the crazy highlights, the complete lack of resemblance to my reference photo. etc.) he dyed it more ashy and DID improve it a bit (though it could hardly have gotten worse!) but charged me another $200 just to fix the disgusting mess that HE'D created!

Horrible experience, would never go again, and highly recommend going to ANY OTHER SALON AT ALL. I had to pay almost $500 to end up with fried hair that I don't HATE but also that looks ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the photo I brought in (and showed him many times).

Eugene has been cutting my hair for a few years now - always does it quickly, and does it well. Nice and cheap at $20, too - the other barber I used to go to in the City cost me ~$35.

Highly recommended.

I am very picky about my hair stylist. I am so please to have found Eugene and his professional team at CYA. I received hair/scalp treatment twice a month since June 2015 and they have helped slowed my hair thinning with their treatment. Besides, their hair cut, colouring and perm are done gorgeously. Further, their touch of details with a cup of tea and a pillow to rest your arms adds to a very positive and enjoyable experience.

I have always get my hair done by Eugene, The owner of this CYA hairdresser ever since he was working at Sugar. Then he opened his own business and i've been going to CYA since then. I never have problems with him and always gives me a good outcome. He'll tell u what is good/suit hair style and what not. I highly recommended him to everyone. I introduced him to my family and friends and they all happy with the result. No complaints at all.

My hairdresser, Eugene, the owner of CYA, I have known him for about more than three years. I would recommend this shop for anyone would like to looking for best hairdresser for themself. He has ability that identify personal hair type and style which suits the person. Many hairdresser has lack of ability in Melbourne as my experience but Eugene (CYA) is different. He has and is stylish himself! Postive, enthusiastic and experienced!! CYA where I can see the potencial in hair industry. Why not try......

CYA hair used to be Orange hair and the new owner took it over recently. The owner,his name is Eugene has been my hairdresser for a long time. I have never seen any other better hairdresser than him so I followed him wherever he went. He is very experienced and his skills are very professional and delicate. He knows exactly what you want and what kind of hair style suits you.They have another male and a female hairdresser who seemed very friendly and hospitable. But I guarantee that Eugene is the best. If anyone is not happy with their hair, I strongly recommend to go and have your done by Eugene. DEFINITELY 5 STAR FOR EUGENE!!

This is by far the worst haircut I've ever had. The young male stylist I had seemed a bit clumsy and his cutting technique was very rough and not precise. I provided a clear picture of the style I wanted but he had given me a completely different look. I did not notice this until the very next day after my blow dry had flattened and saw that my whole hair was uneven and chunks of it were taken away making me look really ridiculous. My friends have commented that it looks very unprofessional. Even though the stylist was hospitable he had very limited English which made it hard to communicate. The picture should have been clear for what I wanted done but he had still done a very bad job. I am very unsatisfied with the result and will not be coming back. They need to hire better trained staff who knows how to cut women's hair. Just like the name, "CYA" Later. First and last time I will be back.
