Adelaide Prime Movers

Adelaide Prime Movers do not employ staff they subcontract. This caused us several problems:

1. the guy that quoted didn't provide a good fixed price quote that was relevant to the job in hand and this meant that when the subcontractors arrived they didn't agree with the price for the job.

2. The guys on arrival said that the contents would not fit into their truck and that we would need to pay twice the fixed price quote for a second truck to take the overflow. The reason it didn't fit in the truck was because they REFUSED to stack so when they said their truck was full it actually was half empty!

3. They worked VERY slowly because they were on a fixed price.

4. When we arrived at the new house they wanted to charge more because it was a double storey building.......... the number of floors was not a question when obtaining the fixed price quote. They wanted just to put all the boxes in one ground floor room and not take any upstairs....

5. Communication with the guy who did the original quote was APPALLING! He only answered the phone to the removal guys not us.

6. The removal guys were not trained to move furniture, they were clumsy and damaged the walls and the furniture.

7. The guys did not have good English so communication was tricky. They were, to be fair, subcontracted to a person who made things difficult and I feel they were being sold short.

All in all I DO NOT in ANYWAY recommend booking through Adelaide Prime Movers because the way they are set up using contractors does not give a smooth moving day and the stress involved with using this company is just too much. My advice would be to go with Complete Removals who we have used in the past and who were a breeze. I know who I will be calling next time.

If you want all furniture damaged, no boxes moved, walls and driveway damaged and overcharge use these people. And they were 7 hours late

The removal guys were on time and really friendly. They looked after our furniture and always checked where things went. Reasonably priced.would definitely recommend them.

Job was done, I helped.

No invoice presented to me, was only sms on the phone of one removalists, you must pay otherwise removalist will not leave your house. I only ask and I am still waiting to receive tax invoice ( I paid charge in full ).

I was quoted a flat rate door-to-door service for a three-bedroom home however when I received my belongings half of it was missing!

They had decided to leave half of my household belongings behind well over a trailer full! When I spoke to Jay the owner, he was disrespectful and refused to give a partial refund or cover any cost of trailer hire for me to finish the job I paid him to do!

We don't recommend Adelaide Prime Movers at all. We used them to move houses (from ADL CBD to Oaklands) last 18 March 2020 and we were quoted:

*Service: 2 Fully experienced movers + fully enclosed truck with HYDRAULIC TAILGATE LIFTER @ $95/hr.



Unfortunately, their 2 movers were so relaxed, they took their sweet & slow time in moving, with no proper planning which ones to lift and move first, etc.



3 of us even helped their 2 men in lifting as they were too slow to lift things.



They even said we will need two trips, but by the looks of it, everything can just fit their truck using just a single trip, if only the items were properly stacked.



In the end, we were charged for 3.5 hours work (when half of it were lifted by me and my friends) and we were also charged a $40 call out fee (which was never mentioned when we agreed on the rates, nor was it written on their proposal email) + 10% GST despite not giving any formal receipts after.



I wanted to talk to the boss to clarify things before paying, spoke to him once and I argued that the call out of fee wasn't mentioned, etc. He said that's the final amount we have to pay. Tried calling him again before paying, he never called back or texted back despite my messages requesting for him to call me back before I pay.



His boys even said: "you were the ones who voluntarily lifted things." But to us, it was because they were too slow when we could have lifted things ourselves.
