I wish I read the review from Johannes before I contacted Browne Plumbing and Gas. The service is SUPER CRAP. I totally agree that they are not interested in fixing your problem and only do a half-complete job so that they get repeat business.

I called contacted them to fix a noise in my toilet. I was given a specific quote from the son... actually two quotes.. one quote included "replacing the toilet valve" and the other quote was to fix the toilet without replacing the toilet valve. There was a $20 price difference between the two quotes.

The price was fine and the son sent out the dad who never replaced the toilet valve (and apparently replaced a washer instead) but still demanded the extra $20. I paid because I figured at least the toilet was fixed. Turns out, whatever the dad did, it didnt fix my toilet. The problem never went away so I called to get them to come back, made the appointment, left work early to get to my apartment on time and no-one ever showed up. No phone call to let me know they werent coming. Nothing.

I arranged another appointment for the son to come again to fix the toilet and when he came on a separate day, he didnt fix anything. Instead he gave me another quote to "replace the toilet valve". WHY DIDN'T YOU REPLACE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE??!!

And not just that, the quote given was HIGHER than the first time he quoted to replace the toilet valve. Naturally I complained and the best response I received was a discount.

The discounted price was still going to be cheaper than calling a new plumber altogether to do the same work so I agreed.

I was told that I would get a call back to arrange an appointment to do the work. This was on 21 February 2014. Nothing. I called on two separate occasions to chase up an appointment to fix my toilet and each time, I was told he will get back to me. To date, nothing.

I PAID and THEY FIXED NOTHING.

CALL ANOTHER PLUMBER.

I normally don't bother leaving review for bad service. But this is SO bad I had to make any attempt to aware future customer.

First, I had roots in my drainage. Came to my house to clear the line using a mechanical snake, charge me $180. Advise me to buy roots poison from Bunnings, which I then did. Next couple months, symptoms reappear and had to call them back.. they did exactly the same thing, charged me $200. Same advice... and well.... PROBLEM CAME BACK IN FEW MONTHS

Second, he came to look at a leaking sink. He figure the problem is on the tap.. so he tighten it and seal it. Charged me $80.. then said if problem still there, call him and he will fix it free. Well, problem was still there so I called him back.. this time he found problem is on the side of the sink ceramic mounting and had to seal it... wanted to charge me $80 and I argued! He said this time its different problem, so he charged me $60 instead... and guess what, PROBLEM NOT FIXED

So I called different plumber as I had enough with Jim Browne. Plumber fixed the leaking sink for $40, JOB COMPLETED NO LEAK!

I asked him about my first problem and he suggested to replace pipe so it fixed the problem permanently rather than clearing the line as what Browne has been doing... twice!

Conclusion... BROWNE is not interested in fixing your problem completely. He wants a repeat business by fixing it a bit at a time. My suggestion, CALL OTHER PLUMBER! Mischa Plumbing (Shahin) is my recommendation.
