I brought my toddler last Wed to see the NP as I couldn't get a dr appt. Firstly, door was widely opened during consultation, no privacy at all. Secondly, she just had a quick look at my son without doing any obs like checking ears, listening to heart or lungs etc. She said he has mouth, hand & feet disease without even look at his feet. Then, she started typing things in her computer. Very little eye contacts when I was talking to her, it's like talking to a wall. I asked if she can give me a summary report for this visit so that I can bring it to my GP, she said I don't need it at all. Then, she gave me a script for 8-day antibiotic course coz she can see bacterial infection around my son's mouth without have a close look. She presented like she is so professional and was in a hurry or what. Ok, I bought the antibiotics and the pharmacy assistance said feed him with empty stomach like she has no idea how easy to do this on a toddler. When I asked if I can mix it with milk, she pointed at the instructions and read out loud again 'feed with empty stomach' like I dont understand English at all. But when she checked with pharmacist, she said I can mix it with milk but will taste funny. What a joke!! It's already Monday and my son is still unwell, will bring him to see my GP tomorrow. Overall speaking, it was a terrible experience for me, less friendly and not approachable, can't imagine how I will feel if I'm the actual patient. I will definitely not going back again!!
